Payment isn't handled in this app — you'll need to arrange that with your connection.

For everyone's safety, users will only see names on items they have already successfully requested to borrow. This way no one can see a full list of valuables a single connection owns. It also makes it easy to reject a borrow request without akwardness so no one feels pressure to lend something when they aren't comfortable doing so.

In the real world, you might be looking to borrow something and a friend might have a friend with that thing. They can choose to reach out to their friend and advocate for you or not, and then their friend may or may not be comfortable with that. Vouching is that exact process.

Your 2nd degree connections (connections of your connections) might have things you need. You won't know when searching if items belong to your direct connections or 2nd degree connections. To request an item from a 2nd degree connection your request will first go to the person you know directly and they will have a chance to give the item owner some information about you and pass along the request or reject it. If a vouch is rejected the requesting user won't know whether it was the intermediary or item owner who ultimately rejected the request — no hard feelings!

The item may not be available at that time or maybe the owner didn't feel comfortable lending it to you.

You can set a max value amount on each connection and that person will only see your items worth that amount or less. Useful for connections you are still building trust with. You can also set a value limit on what 2nd degree connections can request from your user settings page and for members of a group you belong to from the groups page.

Your connections will see a notice that they have a connection looking for this item on their dashboard as well as in a weekly email (if they have that enabled). They can post that item if they have it and you'll be notified.

A group is a collection of users who will always see each others items and can request items directly from one another without needing to manually add each other.
